Massage is one of the most ancient therapy techniques . Massage therapy is a practice where a person’s muscles are stretched and relaxed in order to improve their health and well – being .  There are several types of massages including Swedish massage , sports massage , aromatherapy , baby massage , trigger point massage etc .

BENEFITS OF MASSAGE :

Massage is the type of treatment which is used alongside the main treatment . Also it has been beneficial  for certain health conditions .

1. Reduces stress and increases muscle relaxation .

2. It helps us to sleep more soundly as it relieves the tension .

3. It also boosts one’s concentration as our muscles are relaxed and it eventually lowers our heart rate which ultimately increases our focus .

4. Also if one has a joint pain and if it is chronic then a massage therapy works wonders  because it gets rid of soft tissue restrictions and increases blood circulation as it stimulates our lymphatic system .

CERTAIN RISKS ONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MASSAGE THERAPY :

Although massage therapy has many health benefits it may not be as beneficial to the people who have certain health conditions –

1. If one have any medical history related to diabetes or cancer they should always consult their doctor .

2. Also pregnant women should consult their doctors as they should be really careful while positioning .

3. People who have osteoporosis should always talk to their doctors as their bones are sensitive and any mistake can lead to serious problems .

4. If the person have skin allergies , cuts , some rashes or some infections they should not seek massage therapy .
